The theme for June is ceramics & pottery at Galleria Varietique, so anyone with
a talent in this field please get in touch. I am also offering a chance for all disabled art and craft folk to continue
displaying their work here.

Making the most of what Dover has to offer, many events are being held by various organisations,
you just need to let me know if you want a mention.
Galleria Varietique is offering everyone the chance to have a go at all things
artful, from painting to clothes design and everything in between. The Artful & Crafty Club is held on a Wednesday afternoon
2-4. The only restriction is your own imagination, ideal for photographers and healers, therapists, tarot card readers
etc. Work shops will be run by local artists etc, so if you are reading this and have a talent you could pass on to others

Events during 2007
Hi everyone,
What a great time was had by all last week while the World Archery Championship was being held at the Duke
of Yorks. The opening ceremony took place on Tuesday 31st of July in the wonderful setting of our castle grounds.
The Archery championships, again held in another of our beautiful settings, Duke of York Royal Military
School, was well organised and the competion finals very exciting. (Anyone with any photos from this event that they would
like to share, please get in touch.)
On Saturday, at the Western Heights Sports ground a Viking village was created and during
the afternoon a re-enactment battle took place. (Again anyone with photos please let me know.) The tents,costumes and
weaponry were very authentic and there was an air of peace and serenity. During the evening, our Viking visitors led a torchlight
procession on to the beach for a boat burning ceremony. Many local people took part in this procession which was finalised
by a fantastic firework display. (More photos appreciated.)
